The Best Ways To Avoid Burnout In Online Modeling

Burnout is defined as “a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress, characterized by three elements: feelings of depletion or exhaustion, increased mental distance from one’s job, and reduced professional efficacy”. As with other conditions, burnout doesn’t take into account the type of activity you carry out, which means it can affect the online modeling industry as well.
Working in non-adult online modeling is viewed by many as the perfect job since you earn a lot of money, you don’t need any prior experience, you can set your own schedule, and you get to travel and meet new people every day. However, since burnout is more about the person than about the job, you can suffer from it too if you are a cam girl.
Actually, some of the busiest people in the world, with businesses or fortunes of hundreds of thousands of dollars, have struggled in the past with this infamous condition. Luckily, they shared their experience with others and you can apply their advice in online modeling and in your personal life. Here’s what they had to say:
Find a hobby.
“The best way to avoid burnout is to find a hobby which to practice a few hours every week. For example, I play frisbee and, whenever I’m on the field, I definitely not think about my work. It really helps me recharge and remotivate!” (Bhavin Parikh, CEO Magoosh, an online education startup company)
Work out.
“When I feel mentally burnt out, there is only one thing that can recharge my batteries and that is working out. Whether I go for a run or ride my bike, afterwards I feel so powerful that all the stress is gone!” (Andrew Vest, Technology Sales Executive at Zscaler, the largest cloud security platform)
Know your limits.
“Most people will tell you it’s impossible to unplug, but you should know when you’re getting close to your breaking point. When you reach that point, take a day off or go out with friends, most of the time it’s enough to put you back on the right track!” (Pablo Palatnik, VP of Global E-commerce at DS Healthcare Group)
Take naps.
“Naps aren’t only meant for children. Instead of the second cup of coffee, try napping for 15-20 minutes. It’s the best way to help refresh the brain!” (Jonathan Swerdlin, CEO Portal, a digital video sharing platform)
Try this between your online modeling private sessions!
Meditate daily.
“Spending as little as 10 minutes per day focusing solely on my breath has been extraordinarily powerful for me. It keeps me fresh and sharp!” (Derek Flanzraich, Founder of Greatist, an online health news platform)
Take a vacation.
“Vacations alone or with your loved ones will help you avoid burnout. It’s important to fully unplug and not check anything work-related during your holidays!” (Jesse Pujji, Co-founder & Exec Chairman at Ampush, Growth Marketing & Digital Strategy company)
If you, who work in online modeling, can’t afford an exotic vacation once or twice a year, then nobody can. Have fun and send us some good pictures! 🙂
